What does Mitten Stays charge?
Browsing is free. Hosts choose between two plans per property: a basic direct-link listing for $99 per year with no booking fee, or full website and calendar hosting for $500 one-time startup, $250 per year and $10 per confirmed booking through the managed tools. Full hosting includes the listing; the $99 basic plan is not added. Service dates, billing and setup are agreed before activation.
Does the website plan include the calendar?
Yes. Full hosting includes a basic website, website and calendar hosting, and the listing. The $500 startup fee is charged once; annual hosting is $250. Each confirmed booking through the managed tools incurs one $10 host fee. Basic listings have no booking fee. Visits, inquiries and calendar blocks do not trigger booking fees.
Can hosts switch plans?
Yes. Switch between Basic and Full Hosting without a switching fee or penalty. Standard plan charges still apply. We agree on the timing, any remaining paid service period and existing bookings before making the change.

Jason and Kristen Schuringa founded Mitten Stays as their Michigan rental brand and a way for other independent hosts to connect directly with guests. Meet the founders or explore our services.
Where do I check availability and book?
Select “Visit host website” or “Visit host page” on a property. You will leave Mitten Stays and continue with that host. The property page explains the host’s booking route. Basic directory listings send you directly to the host. Selected hosted stays show the property’s own calendar and request form on their detail page; the same calendar and request inbox are used on the standalone website. A request does not reserve dates or collect payment. Always confirm the final price and policies with the host.
Are the displayed rates final?
Listed nightly rates are starting prices supplied by hosts. Check the host’s website for your dates, the full total, cleaning fees, taxes and other terms before booking.
Can hosts list their place themselves?
Yes. Add rental details, beds, baths, home size, photos, amenities and a direct website or Facebook link. Choose the cover thumbnail and submit for review. With photos ready, creating a listing should take about five minutes. The basic plan is $99 per year. Listing review, annual billing and activation are handled before publication; submitting a listing does not authorize payment.
Which links are accepted?
Hosts share their own rental website or direct Facebook page. They enter rental information and authorized photos themselves. Other booking-platform links and listing imports are not accepted.
What happens if I need to change or cancel?
Contact your host through the website or page where you arranged the stay. Their booking agreement, cancellation policy and payment provider govern changes and refunds.
