We’re Jason
and Kristen.
Michigan is home.
We believe the best stays come with a real welcome—and a little room to make your own memories.
We’re Jason and Kristen Schuringa. With more than a decade in hospitality, we’ve learned to appreciate the details that make time away feel easy: a comfortable space, a thoughtful host, and a place you’re glad you found.
Our family loves rockhounding along Lake Superior, camping in the U.P., and exploring Michigan together. That love of this place is what brings Mitten Stays to life.
Our stays started it.
Michigan keeps it growing.
Mitten Stays is our rental brand and a Michigan platform for rental properties of every kind. A city condo, a lakeside cottage, a cabin off the grid—each has its own place here. Our founding collection reaches from Northport and Bellaire to the Two Hearted River, where we co-own Camp Two Hearted with other families.
We understand the seasons, communities and experiences that make Michigan different. We want a platform where trust grows through clear information and direct contact, where hosts can keep more of their earnings and guests have the opportunity for a lower overall cost.
If rising costs or changing platform policies have made hosting harder to keep up with, you belong in this conversation. Keep your own website with Basic, or choose Full Hosting for a basic rental website and calendar we host for you. Switch between the two without a switching penalty; the chosen plan’s charges still apply. Every property keeps its own identity and its own host. Local promotions and business sponsorships help keep the experience close to home.
